Joplin MO vs. Xenia OH vs. Moore, OK
Which one was the worst in terms of damage and strength?
-
I'm ok. My family is ok. We just got power and phone service restored. 3 blocks away is completely gone though. I'll post a more detailed account once I check in with everyone.
We know of at least 2 people we know that died. One was protecting his wife and died from injuries. She survived, he didn't. One had a compound fracture and bled to death, they couldn't give her a transfusion because they didn't have her blood type.
So glad to hear from you; also extremely sorry for what you have endured over the last week.
That post you made right before the tornado was extremely haunting and I will remember that for a long time.

EF5 according to TWC.
-
For people saying there were no sirens in places like Birmingham, you could clearly hear the sirens on TWC when Jeff Morrow was there.
-
Although the death toll will undoubtedly rise, I find the report of "hundreds of casualties" really hard to believe. I mean, we haven't had a 100+ fatality tornado in decades, and that was during the pre-tornado siren days.
If it does get over 100, then it makes you wonder if warnings actually work..

mayor of tuscaloosa saying parts of tuscaloosa are obliterated.

One of the TWC guys (I think its Jeff Morrow) is in Birmingham right now. Lets see if they can get some incredible footage..

Wait, its not 17 tornado warnings. Thats just in the state of Alabama
There are now 52 tornado warnings (from what I'm counting on wunderground).
-
This is insane. There are 17 tornado warnings out right now. Crazy.
-
Forbes just went TorCon 10 for N AL
Yup.. I think its the first time ever.

Xenia #1 weenie
Anyways, the last 3 days have been pretty crazy in terms of severe weather. Pretty cool to track, though.
