75 in November and I would have to run the heat in my house to keep it at a comfortable temperature [assuming a chilly overnight].

This makes sense considering your head is firmly lodged up your ass, there's a 23.6°F difference during the small window of time youre exposed to a non-rectal environment.

I did not realize it, but the NWS makes official calls on the growing season question.  Here are the counties where the growing season has ended as of this Am.  It does  not always apply to everyone in the county, case in point here in Far Southern Franklin where the lowest we have had is 34.  Growing season does not end for me until it gets to 28.  Some places go by first and last frost and others use 28 as the divider.

I guess it is then time to perform the final mow for the season to get everything evened out and ready for the winter. I will then drive the riding mower up the hill to the railroad tracks and will await the next train.

  3. Being close to both Lakemont Park and Bland's Park (now Delgrosso's), I think the first coaster I rode was Skyliner at Lakemont, which even in the 90s it felt like that coaster could fall apart at any time. Great airtime in the back, though.

Zyklon at Bland's Park was likely next, followed by Comet and Wildcat. Oddly enough, my first coaster with an inversion credit of mine is Shockwave at King's Dominion, which was a standing coaster followed by the god-awful Anaconda.

Sometime after that the SuperDooperLooper and Great Bear, which remains my all-time favorite inversion coaster and #2 all time.

No airports and no undue influence from any bodies of water, unless you count little ol' Grubb Lake a couple miles to my west ha.  All in the land of Suburbia, with elevations ranging from 400-600'.  I've said too much.

Boring. You need to move at least seven of those stations to more important locales.

I have an astounding nine active WU stations within a mile and a half of my house.  I understand absolutely nobody asked for this information and it probably only excites me, but I felt compelled to provide it anyway.  Carry on lads.

Yeah but how many are by water? How many are in cool spots? How many are by county airports?

Will be interesting to see if Harrisburg can pick up any additional days with a maximum temperature at or below freezing.  Currently, at six on the year following last year's 1. So that's 7 days in two years. What I find fascinating is there were only 9 single years with 7 or fewer such days prior to 2023. And now it's approaching two full years with that many days. Wild. It's like former President Trump said at his Butler rally on October 5, "we do a lot of firsts. Let me tell you folks, we do a lot of firsts."

I just witnessed sleet on the 15th day of October. You can fuck off and all.
