Hopes for a big season are never high if we punt December.
The avg high temp for Metuchen NJ on Dec 1st is 50 and the avg high temp on Dec 31 is 42. When you refer to "we" do you really have an expectation for snow in Dec with that temp profile?

you at like 900’ right I.e higher part of town
it’s amazing that like Brookline at 400’ had like 10” or so
you could see that 800-850 was like the magic elevation number yesterday . Saw that difference between west End Wilton and Downtown
On my drive home Monday night it was raining in Milford but transitioned to snow on my drive through Greenville. Was snowing moderately when I got home.

also, as silly as it sounds to mention, -1C is 30 degrees. makes a big difference if the lower levels are that cold. you're also getting adiabatic cooling. it would snow there, no question
There hasn’t been any discussion about wind potential. Thoughts?

61k without power in NH. I’m guessing I’ll be out for 2-3 days.

hope we can get the snow to melt from trees.. if not the weight could be a problem
Good point. I was outside and noticed all the trees were still covered and the pines were still being weighed down.

You do have 420’ as well , that degree May be key
I’ll be up near Gorham the next 2 days hiking in the mountains so I was hoping they would receive the bulk of the snow. If the Euro holds I’ll have to snowblow to get back in my driveway Mon night.

Cool! Seems like you're in a jackpot area for part 1. You're close to 1K elevation, right?
I managed to get 3 1/2" here in the lowlands of Townsend. Hoping for at least 2" today in part 2.
I’m at around 780’ and did well in the mid Dec storm (10”) and 9” yesterday.

I did well in the mid Dec event so I’m hoping my elevation helps to give me 3-6 or 4-8 on Friday.

Looks like 4 rain events in the next 14 days or so up in NNE.
Just waiting on confirmation from the other people coming with us; but we are most likely canceling our trip.
Cant believe the weather is going to force us to cancel a ski trip in mid-late Jan. You hate to see it
What model shows a forecast through Jan 19? 12Z GFS looks like snow in NNE on Jan 7 (384 hrs).

There is always some idiot who grabs a 24hr period 10+ days out to make a point about a whole month's avg temp variance.

If the whole month is warm then it's doable. Take a +12-14 first half and still average +5 or better 2nd half and there ya go.
However I'm not convinced we'll even go that high and/or stay mild all month. I think a +4 monthly is much more reasonable
Avg +8 from Fort Kent to the southern coast of CT for New England is tough to do in Jan. That would be a disaster for the Ski areas.

Is it funny and/or annoying when New Yorkers come into the New England forum to quarrel with each other?

Mason/Greenville at 780’ I picked up a minimum 9.5”. Never went to rain here. Not a bad storm.

I would. Euro was taking this over like ORH on some runs a few days back. Lol. If this ends up over ACK or CHH like most guidance has, that’s a pretty bad cave by euro vs gfs. GFS was def too far SE but I think it wins this one 60/40 or 70/30. But we’re not at verification yet. Euro may win if we’re measuring from like 60-72 hours out but I was measuring from like D4-5.
Looking for advice: My wife is having her sister and father come down tonight from Sunapee so they can leave for Hadley Mass tomorrow around 4PM. We live out in the Mason/Greenville area just north of Ashby at around 800ft elevation. What weather should I expect at that time? Trying to determine if this is a good idea.

It would be funny if the only thing Tip got wrong was calling it a "Medium Impact" event.
