Sorry it didn’t work out for you, but for most folks the last storm trended better in the last 24-36 hours if you go back and read the thread. I don’t think the guidance shifted north late much for most longitudes in this sub. I think it was the opposite and the last minute trends were good.
I am so used to the north trend that I always set my bar low. I was happy to get snowy scenery and flakes in the air. My happy place, so a win for me

Didn’t happen in this last storm.
It definitely happened this last storm. I am in the Spotsylvania area and we had a bullseye for a while. The final 24 hours of modeling moved it north a ways and final results were north getting more. (It’s the same with most storms). I only remember a handful where I got more than the north crew in the last 15 years.

For my bingo card... do I get "virga", "radar hallucinations", or both for this?
Unless radar reality is on that bingo card, no bingo for you

Are we going to roll this thread right into obs for this one? Looks like some blue returns over the area.

Side note, colleague out of Chicago says the snow storm forecast is a bust in their NW burbs. NWS forecast was for 8-12 and they got a few inches with pavement just wet.
Isn’t the storm just pretty much starting there? I don’t know if I’d call it a bust yet.

Spotsy backwoods are tough to get through in good weather. Add in down limbs and trees, it would be a nightmare for buses. I have no complaints.

Spotsy-Flakes and pellets. I’ll take it.
update-it’s at least something frozen.

I grow a bunch of different Alocasia species. I think I’m going to take my big boys out Monday. Looks like it won’t get below 40. Might actually put the greenhouse up and put them in there until lows are in 50’s. Either way, i cant wait to make the room in my indoor jungle
Anyone else collect alocasia’s or Colocasia’s?

I am interested to know the thoughts around how much of this rain will dry up before the flash freeze. I have a lot of decent flooding in my yard, and I would assume the same of others. I don’t see this drying up as much as it normally would.

AC trip went well. Roads were trash, but since were not busy in this thread, wanted to post the crazy wind video here. It was cool.

I am going to share this here, instead of the MidAtlantic region.

Finally starting to see some flakes here in Spotsy. I was never expecting much, if any, so it’s nice to see snow tv.

Ended up being a 27hr chase gate to gate from Greenville NC, required application of knowledge learned both in the mid Atlantic over the past 10-15 years punching some of the larger events on record and new things learned out in the PAC NW over the past two years, specifically wheel chains which I purchased for required areas out there and used on the rear for our drive down 1 to Ladysmith, we left about 430pm yesterday. VA law notes tire studs, chain info seems to be prohibited per law unless
Exact location I live. We are still without power and seeing the tree devastation…it’s understandable.

I have been without electric for about 24 hours now, and very little (if any) cell service here in Spotsy. Yesterdays total measurement was 13 inches, but that was not done by wiping board so compacted total. I have some amazing pictures to share when I get some services back. Stay safe everyone.

Definitely moved north enough, in the last 12 hours, to take all digi snow away from those of us near EZF, ouch. But staying positive for a few flakes.
