It's definitely going to snow. The pattern is too wet for us to miss the window. Every 3 days we get a storm/precip or something if the jet stream is going straight w->e. We have like a 5-10 day window, maybe less(3?). I'm afraid it's probably +AO/+EPO after that. 
edit: both storms fizzled out compared to what they were showing a few days on models, under the fast jet-through Canada +EPO pattern (like I thought they would- that's what happens. Models always underestimate Alaska). That's going to change/flip, so I think we are building potential energy the right way. 

Can we have something break our way just 1 time this winter lol

How many pages in total do all of the main discussions have with no snow to show? Has got to be some sort of record ratio I would think.

That’s exactly what we want to see, a stronger and slower wave gives more time for the confluence to depart allowing the storm to come north. 

Man, if I was high right now and stared at this....

Us down here in Central VA are so desperate to see a few flakes honestly. At least the last system you guys up there saw a quick burst

Down here in RVA we have this thing called the "Chester Snowhole". It is super irritating especially mid storm when that thing opens up and makes us lose 2-4 inches almost every single storm. I am hoping for another Jan 2016 storm down here, almost 26 inches fell if I remember correctly. Honestly with this system Thursday, I'd be happy with some sleet falling. I think the odds down here in Richmond are less than 15% though. 

Sometimes I hate living in Richmond. You guys just 100 miles north always luck out! I'm praying just to see a flake or two early Thursday morning on my way to work, anyone have any weenie info where I can hope even more for this??

Jeez, I spoke too soon earlier. Now the GFS is giving some love to Richmond twice. Gotta love it, hopefully this actually holds together. We'll see at the 18z, where everything always falls apart down here lol.

So I'm totally a newb here and I have been watching over these boards for YEARS. I am based in Richmond, VA. I've been out of the game for a long long long time but I am eager to maybe become a part of this community. Seems like a real fun group and my type of people. I know a lot of you are in NOVA / MD, anyone else in the RVA area? Also what do you guys think about our chances down here, seems like you guys up North are getting the bulk of the love off the models!
