Not here my friend and I'm in one of the colder spots of the city and main roads are wet still, I was just out in it. Not complaining, just saying it's taking a while to stick here at least.
How do you not have snow covered streets in Whitestone, and yet here am I in Astoria looking out at snowcovered streets and sidewalks?

We’ve all been brainwashed into having pristine lawns of a non-native species. There are ways to conserve though. Cut the grass long and help it develop deeper roots. Also clover is truly not bad. It is great for pollinators and stays green even when things are dry.
Honestly, the complaints about brown lawns here drive me insane, lol.

here in the city you smell the smoke but lucky i was wearing a kn95 mask.. under my hoodie..
Maybe it's my sinuses, but I'm in Queens and can't smell the smoke now. It was unmistakable yesterday.

Depends. If you're driving and there's even a slight glaze, that's a problem. Hoping that won't be the case. People do drive in the city. It's a mess on a good day.
Yeah, people here are very much minimizing how much even a small amount of ice accumulation can have an impact.

My point was you posted a chart for temps at 1 pm which showed 55 for the area…just not accurate lol
Fair. I was just a bit confused by your original statement when that wasn't what was being forecasted.

quibbling over a high below 60 in mid october, lol. on oct 16 1944 ewr had a low of 31 and in 2009 the high was 46. today is the 13th day in a row with lows above 60...
LOL, pretty much. I'm just not sure what psv is seeing.

OK, sure, but they will likely see temps with the low 60s with many other areas seeing highs right around 60. Not 65+. I guess I'm not sure where you're pulling these numbers from.

What did I claim initially? Of course upstate will be cooler. Where most people live, it will be well into the 60s
"What areas? I’m not seeing that at all. Maybe in New England. We will be 65+"
What modeling or forecasts show that 50s will be exclusive to New England and that the general metro area will see 65+ for a high?

If could see Putnam north, Fairfield north, Sussex county staying in the 50. But most of the area will stay in the 60s.
Well, perhaps. But this is not what you were claiming initially. And forecasts and models show that it could stay in the 50s in additional areas.

Those are not the forecasted highs…
I mean, the NWS is even predicting of 63 at Newark and 59 at White Plains. So its definitely possible, if not likely, that many in the area will stay in the 50s.

Light snow has begun to cover the ground in Park Slope. Holding steady at 27.

Light snow in Park Slope. It's been consistently light for the past hour.

Hot take. Moderation in the sub forum is terrible.

It really is nice just seeing the flakes, fly though!

Like I said.....other than the time of year being a tad early for snow, 1-3 is not something to get all hot and bothered about, especially if a lot of rain is gonna wash it away. And I doubt it will be that much. Yet I have people at work expecting 5-8 inches in the Middlesex County area so that's what happens in the age of social media.
Speak for yourself. It's November. This is essentially a bonus.

It would be nice just to see flakes in the air this early.

I rely on autumn to provide me with some decent dry, warmish hiking weather...this year has been the most unusable of any of the last 40 that I have lived here. Almost enough to get me seriously thinking of relocating. The outdoors keeps me sane, if this is the new normal then I'll soon be running in circles yelling and waving my arms over my head.
LOL. So dramatic.

Only had to turn it on for a couple of hours this afternoon. Just open windows now as the breeze hits.
