On average when is the first day that it snows in NYC? Even if it’s a trace? Sorry I was just wondering and yes I may be a :weenie:

No, that's a good question. What about, say, the Mid Hudson. Like Newburgh to Poughkeepsie/Kingston?

it's way better than cold.  I want it to stay in the 70s through the end of October.  early cold weather sucks it's not good for anything

sunny and 70s and low humidity during the day and 50s at night with clear skies is the best possible weather

There have been October, and a ton of early November snowstorms over the years. Early cold isn't always a waste.

  3. I'm 65 miles northwest of NYC. Isn't seasonal for me in the 60's/30's this time of year? Despite recent trends, of course.

I remember some downright cold nights in mid September back during the 90's. 20's?

Currently 44 with 96% humidity, and all of these warm/wet days ahead.

Not sure if this is even warranted. Standard FROPA for this time of year. Actually, a rather passive one.

    So what?

It is 9/23. What is that+5?

The real story of these past few days hasn’t been extreme warmth…It is extreme humidity and very warm overnight lows because of that humidity.

If it was September 23 and you were looking at 80° with historically normal humidity you would say it was a pleasantly mild day. Instead you’re getting swarmed by mosquitoes as you walk through soup

    Should be gone after tonight.

Already seeing some showers here on and off, 70/68. Aside from the severe threat this looks like a standard sustained 15G25-30 type of fall event with 1-3” of rain as the standard which is to say….blah.

I'll take this event. There could definitely be some wind damage reports throughout the region and this cold front looks to usher in some truly fall weather, as well as set the table for the start of October.

Lol no way. Boston area snow lovers would be happy with a 70-80” inch season

150"+ in Boston would be pretty epic. Anything 100"+ in, as well as north and west of the major northeast cities, is kind of crushing and not something that these locations have seen in a very, very long time now.
