Same...all these years I thought id be safe in south/central Nassau, Henri has other plans apparently. I cringe to think about what type of impact something like this would have on the area, Isias was a disaster in terms of outages and that was just winds for a few hours, id imagine damages could be as bad or even worse than Sandy if that model verifies. A few days ago I thought there was no chance we could get a direct hit but it feels like its only getting more likely as things progress. Im just preparing myself to accept that we probably wont have power for like a week.

Same for me in North Bellmore

NHC now showing the official center is well to the north of the previous track, and winds have been upped to 40 mph

Welp, Hispaniola won’t rip this storm too much now. Norther side of the island isn’t too mountainous.

I definitely think we could see a tropical storm out of this. The longer-range ensembles seem to like the wave leaving Africa this week as a potential Caribbean cruiser and much stronger. We're getting closer to the active times for sure.

We are still at least a week before a potential US landfall tho

My guess is this ends up much further east. SE coast threat. Big trough over the east—much earlier recurve. Trough will miss but influence a more northward track than current guidance.

Coast Rider maybe? Or will it curve OTS

OK, I'll be watching and checking models every six hours for the next few days. Great fun! But not so fun that I want to board up windows on my birthday July 6 here in Tampa Bay.

Let’s just hope this doesn’t hamper the rescue efforts for that collapsed building in Miami.
