FYI, that was dry air from earlier. Seems to be slowly mixing out.
No location provided but I imagine these houses are taking water....

the 18Z NAM (yes I kn ow its the NAM) is an absolute nightmare taking the eye right on the coast around Wilmington around 39 hrs then paralleling the coast while slowly weakening all the way down to Charleston at 84 hrs.
6pm gfs takes inland NC the deepest of any recent runs. Doesn’t run down coast of SC.

Tonight's burst of deep convection should rebuild a solid eyewall one last time prior to shelf water disrupting Flo's heat engine; I'm going out on a limb and will forecast Cat 4 for a few dropsondes tomorrow morning...and the unmodeled moderate shear appears to be relaxing as well.

You know it. Going to hit up the French one soon. But seriously, it's interesting to see how things trend, even with the crappy models.
If that’s not LF between 42/48 it is very close, closest I have seen to LF in NC over last day by GFS

Stalls just off the NC coast near Sneads Ferry at hour 60 until it starts moving SW at hour 84.
Very bad for Wilmington to Moorehead City.

Still no landfall through 78 for Florence... but it is weakening... 966mb
At 78 takes slight nudge to the right, then says I need to go back and hit that area more with a slight nudge back to the left. Has basically been in same area from 48 to 84!

Florence stalling SE of ILM at 60
48 to 66 is basically a stall with slight movement while it appears at 66 to be very close to LF...

Going East now at 96. Certainly a run that moved a good amount west this time.
Sits off the coast and slightly on land in same area for 24 hrs would be devastating for that area.
