I'm getting flurries now near Little 5 Points in Atlanta.

Congrats Dsaur. Can you send it up north another 40 or 50 miles...?

Interesting update based on radar observations from NWS in Peachtree City. I wonder whether the moisture will actually overtake the dry air. 
 

Observing from Atlanta for the last 10 years, it almost never works out when there is an arctic airmass in place and the moisture is supposed to come north from the gulf. Seems to me, there is some mechanism that prevents the moist air from penetrating the frigid air. It only really works out when they two systems arrive simultaneously and intermingle. I may be wrong about what's occurring -- just an amateur who enjoys tracking the weather.

Definitely snow in Atlanta at this point. What are the chances that temps stay low enough for it to stick around for a while?

Well I like the look of the RAP!

The GEFS is showing snow all the way into Atlanta between midnight and 7am on Saturday but it appears to be an outlier compared to other models. How reliable is it in predictions this close to an event?

Really having a tough time staying below freezing here in Atlanta. We've had a fair amount of frozen precipitation but the needle won't get below 33. 

Starting to get some flakes and sleet in Atlanta proper.  

So the 03Z RAP seems to be pretty bullish on snowfall in the Atlanta area.

Can you explain what you’re seeing in the NAM? 

I really hope this thing can trend just a bit further south so Atlanta can see a real snowfall. I haven’t had occasion to even come on here in a couple years.
