  1. We drove 2.5 hours to Reddish Knob in GW National Forest hoping for the best. We have our dog and snacks so we're prepared to wait it out a bit.

I feel like the best odds are looking to be to the general SW of the DC area again, though some of the hi-res seem to have breaks. Maybe I’ll try a 3am alarm if things are looking active again.

Thank you for the input! We are going to keep an eye on it. We might head to Reddish Knob, but will adjust accordingly.

Where is it looking like clear skies tonight?  Might be Aurora chasing.

Same! I just don't know where to go.

  4. I'm in Clifton VA. Trying to decide if I should hop in the car and drive west or wait it out at home. A previous post indicated that the clouds are supposed to start clearing around midnight.

22 years ago today was the surprise snowstorm for DC. Also known as the Carolina Crusher. The storm was supposed to miss SE and ended up being a great storm for just about everyone. By the way. Can someonw recommend a site for historical upper air maps other than this one: https://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/ncepreanal/

I went to an event the night before. On the way there I heard on WTOP that we would have flurries the next day. When I left the event a couple of hours later, I heard on WTOP that there were blizzard warnings going up. I'll never forget that.

Baker park in Frederick has some legitimate flooding. I’m here right now. Carroll creek has had enough.

Is that where the covered bridge flooded out? I heard something on the news, but didn't quite pick up where it was.
