'bounce back latitude' ....  It just means that the rest state of the atmosphere is not very conducive to getting those trough depths into sufficiently lower latitudes.  ... The difference between the depth of any long wavy trough over top compared to that of the ambient 582+ domain to the south, creates too much wind.  The 582 may look like it is in central Florida, but that's illusory if one doesn't know that if the flow stops pressing the trough down from the top, the rest state is actua
