Snowguy66
I am not blind after all. I'm at pivotal weather and selected NAM 18z model run, but my image is different than what you guys are posting. I should've looked at the labeling and it says 00z model run. I go back and I select 18 Z again for the NAM and it still gives me the same 00Z run.

They do put out some pretty clown maps but I do not care for their interface at all. In other news, how's our regional rock salt situation? Both for DOT and in the hardware stores? I haven't been in a while, but they were still sold out a week or two ago near me...

Chadzachadam
obviously nitpicking if we get a bomb like the NAM is showing, but I don't really understand why kuchera would show more snow than standard 10:1 in this setup. temps are pretty marginal especially to start so I would think we'd be looking at more like 9:1 which I thought kuchera was supposed to account for. anyway crazy run regardless lol

Soundings look good and there's no sneaky mid-level warming. Ratios should be around 10:1 indeed, potentially a little higher if rates are heavier. Also keep in mind, temperatures drop throughout the storm. We're only dealing with marginal temps at the beginning per the NAM. 1
Superstorm
Ratios would creep up to 12:1 with that intensity.

nesussxwx1
Wind gusts on the NAM are something else. Blizzard type conditions. Ratios would be hurt in this case though.

Snowguy66
DT is a lunatic. A total immature human being. At the end of the day, he could be right, but it's how he gets there is what screwed up. I used to thinking was the weather God and then I realized he's wrong so many times. Plus his hatred of the GFS and the national weather service and also some of the things just really makes you not respect this guy
