Lol yeah I just peaked at it. This would definitely be elevation dependent but has happened in the past before.
I believe it snowed about 4-6" here in lste April or early May 2017. I remember coming up here from asheville for a horne inspection before we closed and having snow on the ground.

Yeah it's definitely done that before.  We've had some snow here in Haywood as late as May 4th I believe.

Had some ground shaking thunder this morning with 0.96". Not particularly looking forward to this next stretch of cool, wet weather. At least we aren't seeing any freezes bad enough to hurt the trees and flowers yet.

Im seeing a possible freeze the first of May which will not help things out. Hopefully the fruit trees can withstand such. I fully expect 20s to pepper areas over the coming days.

Yeah. I will say these cold snaps have moderated significantly once they get inside 3-4 days it seems. Just Wednesday it looked like a good chance for high elevation snow and 20s, and now my official forecast is only 31 tomorrow night.

I would say one of them will eventually stick but the last 4 months have been nothing but cold in the extended that never works out.

Certainly not much snow this past winter.  However, I have seen snow in Asheville in years past on Halloween and went cross country skiing on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Mt Pisgah in May.  There is at least a shot at winter weather for over six months of the year in WNC.  That's a long winter:snowing:

We will not discuss what happens between the cold snaps and time between snow falls.:arrowhead:
