Our Arctic outbreaks have become much shorter since Valentines Day in 2016. Much more limited supply of Arctic air since then. The aerial coverage of the cold is also much smaller. But we can still get short but sharp Arctic shots from time to time.

That's how we get these insane short term temperature swings

Cold is nothing out of the ordinary. 15/1 right now with forecast of 8. Meh. 50+ nearly every day starting Sunday

Comes in waves with the roar. Seems like 2 minutes of good gusts. Then a lull for a few minutes and then winds pick up again.

Same here. You can hear it roaring through the trees. Down to 9 here as well. I think we make a run at zero on the north shore, we’re dropping pretty steadily. It’s nasty out there for sure. Looking forward to my FL trip on Friday.

Don, I want to find out what the lowest wind chills I've experienced in NY are....is there a way to go about doing this?

Basically covering the period from 1977 to 1994....I'm pretty sure we've not been as cold since then (unless you want to throw in 2004 too.)
