Does anyone have access to weather records in PA or upstate NY from Nov 9, 1913? On that date, a strong low formed over GA and tracked north into southern ON, creating the northerly winds over Lake Huron that caused a huge loss of shipping on night of 9-10th. Would be especially interested in total rainfalls 8th-10th. Temps (based on Toronto) probably in mid-60s dropping to 30s by 10th.

This link shows the NWS available sites from that date.   Select daily almanac and pick a site such as Harrisburg Area.   High was 60 at Harrisburg on the 9th and 36 on the 10th and 3/4" of rain during those 3 days.

This post was a nice surprise to see when pulling open the App. Bubbler's response was great too. Such interesting stuff.

There is a weather map on the front page of washingtonpost.com with rain totals for Nicole.  Oddly enough among the  biggest totals outside of the northeastern FL coast -- which will be around 3.5" or so -- will be here around Williamsport, which is supposed to get a bit under 3".  As it goes north the highest numbers still don't drop off as much as you might think. Maine's highest is a bit above 2".

But of course we all know the real totals will be different. It will be interesting to see by how much.

Looking forward to a rainy friday/sat morn.

Somethin for the norther/westers to keep an eye out for is the trailing wave for sat/night and sunday.  Might be the normal lucky ones getting a splattering of mashed taters on windshields/grassy spots.  Some support being shown by other globals, so keep an eye out all you lucky ones.

Another cutback in QPF this morning from WPC - I'm forecast to get 1" - 1.25" now. Far cry from the 3"+  just 48 hours ago.

mountains gonna do there thing and keep western crew in the jackspot.  They can use it too.

Just like the ladies say....we'll take our 1" and like it.

At one point we were too far west for Nicole.  Hope this is not a winter warm up.

Most of what I've read so far regarding winter - storms may initially appear on/off the east coast and will trend further west in subsequent model runs. A lot of cutters on the menu.

I know that's MU's strong take.
