Looking good for cool to cold weather starting end of week!

.

Looks like a hard freeze in the mountains this coming weekend and our first frost threat outside the mountains for the southern foothills. The last time we had a early frost freeze was the first week of October 2014 for the southern foothills. It's been awhile. That's 3 weeks ahead of schedule for our area. I can't wait. Bring it. I love this weather. Bring the cold.

2nd straight day with a low of exactly 34.2°.

Looks like some big winds possible behind the front Friday that might put an end to high elevation leaf season.

Talk about a front that's mellowed out. Looking much less sharp than the past couple days had shown. Maybe some light showers and not much of a cold press. I'll take it, though, the longer fall photography season lasts the better.

Thinking about heading to Boone Saturday for the day..   are the leaves peak in that area?    Thanks for any info!
Yeah they're pretty solid. They held up decent through the rain but we'll see what the wind does tonight.

However just be aware traffic is going to be a nightmare moreso than usual. The Wooly Worm Festival and Valle Crucis Fair are this weekend and we're expecting the biggest single day traffic influx of the year. Our business in Blowing Rock that day is comparable to Black Friday.
