Some off and on showers today with temps remaining in the 60's across most of Chester County today. We have already received 0.39" of rain here in East Nantmeal Township and some areas may pick up around an inch of rain before we start to dry out tomorrow night.
Our record high today is 99 degrees set way back in 1897. The record low is 34 degrees set in 1924. The daily rainfall record is the 3.35" that fell today in 1960.

Got exactly 1" in the gauge. It's only 68 outside so we had the windows open for a bit before the humidity got to us. I hate running the AC on a day like today but if you try to do anything at all physical it's just sweat city. (I'm finishing a complete bathroom remodel.) Shouldn't need to run it for too long though I think.

Yeah, it's one of those days where the temp doesn't tell the story. Just doing little stuff around the house makes you sweat. Didn't turn the A/C on and once I was done everything, a shower, exhaust fan in the window and a fan on me and it's fine...

Follow this guy because he does live video in studio (tornadoes, t-storms, winter storms) and on the road through all events. His take on this winter. Not great for us, not horrible. First weenie outlook...

That's the hype monger for the lower midwest that keeps popping up on youtube this year lol yeah next

LOL :weenie:

The ENSO patterns seem to shift based on the strength of the El Nino or La Nina too and it will also depend on the PV and what manages to ooze down here out of the north.  I think he did give a reasonable call though.

I made it up to 73 today as a high, just after 9 am before the rain moved in, and so far have 0.54" in the bucket from today's round.

It's currently an overcast and misty 71 with dp 70 and yes, I also had to give up and turn the AC on due to the soup (the fan just wasn't doing it).

Family members etc. been bringing up this guys weather doom porn thinking its for this area

The image still for that video has that map with the "4ft of snow" area carved out with us in it but nowhere in the actual video does it have that for here.  He had something along the line of 2ft - 3ft, which is our usual average/range anyway.

Look at his videos with maps warning of giant multi phased electrical storms etc they have little lines pointing at us like oh no here they come all the way to the mid Atlantic that fools the weather unwise.

I didn't even bother looking at any of the rest of his stuff (especially since he was hawking his "Ya'll o Meter" snow measuring stick).    I take heart that he at least admits that mets are in a rare profession where they can "get it wrong and still keep their jobs".

Damn, RedSky and Agnes lambasted me! Ya"ll, I'm just throwing it out there since we nothing else to work with at this point?  He probably races V8 lawnmowers through mud, drinking whiskey while playing Lynyrd Skynyrd during his off time but was pretty accurate/live (and communicating w/others live) when we had that tornado outbreak.

Ralph is still in hibernation but should chime in the next couple weeks....Ya'll!

I'm going through weather, sports and news anxiety. No more Glenn for weather, no more Ray Didinger after Eagles games, and add Jim Gardner to the list later this year for late breaking action news updates. What the hell is this world coming to...sinners, I'll tell ya'll.

Appropriate a bunch of 6's in my latest temp/DP accu-weather update...

We have picked up 1.78" of rain so far since yesterday. We should see some additional showers developing across Chester County by this afternoon.
The record high for today is 97 degrees set back in 1931. Our record low is 38 degrees set in 1917. On this date back in 1960 we received a record 2.37" of rain which followed the 3.35" that was recorded on the 11th - that rain was all from Hurricane Donna. The 2 day total rain was 5.72"image.png.e6ad03238d2f3ce2d570ce9ed94e9354.png

I know it can be hard to find overall long-term forecasters who regularly post blogs without the hype, so I often just look for those who focus on certain weather events (like Levi Cowan when tropical cyclones are in the area and he does his video discussions on tropical tidbits - https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/) or for winter, I'll often check here - https://www.severe-weather.eu/frontpage/welcome-to-severe-weather-europe/  where they are monitoring for SSWEs that foretell PV intrusion into the CONUS.  They had their first discussion post on that here - https://www.severe-weather.eu/global-weather/polar-vortex-cooling-forecast-winter-2022-2023-influence-united-states-europe-fa/

Their 2022/2023 initial forecast (using 3 different models including the EC) - https://www.severe-weather.eu/long-range-2/winter-forecast-2022-2023-season-first-look-united-states-europe-fa/

Their mention of NOAA's current expectation with this 3-pete La Nina -

Ji's doesn't have an optimistic bone in his body. That's a Jeb forecast.

68F/DP 67F...disgusting!

Jeb just wants to go a-walking!

As an obs, I ended up with 0.55" of rain yesterday and my "low" has been 70 this morning, where it has been hovering around that as a floor for some time,  + a few degrees and back as the temp wobbles.  Didn't have any fog here but some low stratus that initially started to break up but then it clouded over again.

It's currently 72 with dp 71 and had the steamy windows this morning.
