It’s gone. You’d need to see a massive shift in the steering pattern to make this a continental US threat.

@Hazey and Nick should be watching though. The globals have a mean low up there next weekend. For now.

the further west members are the ones that almost cut off after hitting the DR and mender off the south east coast..

The island of Puerto Rico has lost 100% of it's power a few hours ago.  3.2 million people.  The power grid is fragile after Maria 5 years ago but it still is amazing that the entire island is out with only the south coast getting hurricane gusts.

Flooding is going to be atrocious with that long fetch out of the south. Of course, Stein will still argue that the island is in serious drought.

You gonna chase? Not many opportunities to see something that strong.

Tempting but it would have to be stronger than Juan. I went through the worst of that so benchmark is high. The winds in the highlands of CB and the wreck house area of NFLD would be off the charts with that track. THAT would be something to witness.

It seems like airlines are starting to take it more seriously. They added flights and are getting people out (us included) this afternoon. All Turks and Caicos Airports closed starting tomorrow

Good thing.  Looks like Fiona held together very well over the DR.  Already trying to clear out her eye and looking good to be a major in the next day or so.

It's a legit threat up there. Not sure how much further west it can adjust but 5 days out a lot can happen. Thinking the GFS is probably too far east and the Euro is a little too outrageous, but a significant one may be on the table for eastern NS and NF. Interesting that the stronger members are further west on the GEFS.
