Mount Hood Meadows is pretty legit.  Doesn’t get the credit it deserves.  Skied some pretty steep lines yesterday, heather canyon, private reserve, both super fun.  The rest of the mountain was pretty awesome too.  Snow was real good while the sun was out.  Skied a pretty legit no fall line into Heather canyon, chalky wind blown to straight up ice, had to tell myself several times “I’m a good f$&king good skier!”

Some of my favorite ski days of all time were at Hood Meadows. Heather Canyon and Clark Canyon are just plain epic. Never felt so small lol. Hood is a beast of a mountain. Enjoy!

2nd day at BEast on my IndyPass. Sun was partially out in the morning - mid-40s when I left at 1:30pm. They had made snow the last couple of nights trying to recover. Folks said the crowds were the smallest of the season. I really like that mountain and I've never really been there when you could ski in the woods!

Heading to Salt Lake City tomorrow to sample some of their patented fluff n stuff. Skiing Tue-Sat at the Ikon mountains. Should be quite the adventure.

.

Enjoy the snow! Should be epic. Was lucky enough to ski Japan this year but even that didn't beat 2 feet at Alta last year. The terrain in LCC is unmatched.

Recommendations for a 7 year old who’s bored with Quechee but has never been anywhere else? Cognizant that this week is likely to be a zoo everywhere.

Ignored everyone and went to Pico yesterday.

7 year old officially better than me and mad I wouldn’t take him on the blacks but handles everything else really well. No lines on Presidents’ Day was a pleasant surprise. Conditions were challenging on anything without a lot of snow made but we had a blast

Plenty of snow out west. Close to 30' so far this year at Steamboat. Unfortunately for me, they were closed last Wednesday missing out on only one of the two days I could ski. But what a great mountain and a direct flight from BOS to HDN and only about a 25 minute drive to the mountain from the airport.

Definitely going back!

Good choice. Great mountain especially when they have natural snow and although I haven't been there in years, Killington sucks everyone away and I can't think of when I've really had to wait in line there.

Just finished three great days at Mount Bachelor.  Not as steep as Meadows but certainly plenty of great terrain.  Such an impressive mountain overall.  Summit was open for us Sunday. We did two big 3300 vert runs through the alpine down into endless tree skiing off the backside. We finished off the three days with storm skiing all day today.  Back to Meadows tomorrow.

day 2 of my 2 Indy days at Waterville Valley. What a great day. High winds delayed the summit lift - but I was probably the first person top via the old sunnyside lift - and the wind blew all day but the entire mountain is now open with exception of the woods - although some terrain in there was open and being skied. The lift on the new POD of trails never ran due to high winds and it looks pretty susceptible to wind closures. Groomers left  a good deal of the terrain ungroomed so basically skied wind pack, small powder bumps all day. There is a good amount boilerplate under the new snow but with moderate traffic, it wasn't an issue except around the lift off-ramps. 5 hours skiing straight top to bottom ski runs - need to get those legs in shape for spring bumps!

This morning was my first cross country ski in my domicile - concord ma - this season. Amazingly, the 1-2" of snow that fell overnight that covered the locked up 2-3" of sleet, snow and freezing rain that had fallen last week provided a perfect surface In a normal winter, this is something I would have done at least a dozen or two times at this point in the season. Walden Pond looks to be pretty much covered in a very thin layer of ice - perhaps the first time this season! All very crazy. Regardless, it was great.

Top ten day at MHM for our “last.” Deep powder turns with constant refreshers. Face shots all day long.

Our flights got cancelled the next day due to a 12/06 Boston type situation in Portland Wednesday night .  We drove up Seattle to fly out of there instead.  We skied the summit at Snoqualmie at night.  Very cold but also very fun.

Finally after more cancelled flights we made it home at 3:40am Saturday. Full 30 hours later than expected.

Last day of a trip to Jackson NH yesterday and skied for a couple hours at Wildcat mid morning to early afternoon.  Incredible conditions in heavy snow and wind direction perfect for filling up tracks every run.  Best powder skiing I have had in quite awhile.  Consistency of snow was western-like.  Was skiing with folks who really knew the mountain, so didn’t have to think at all.  Wish I had longer, but a travel day.  My ski companions said skiing stayed epic all day.

Woot woot! Great mountains! Skied Bachelor, Hood Meadows and Hoodoo on 2 different trips. Very unique mountains with different feels than the Rockies. Glad you had a blast!

skied Pats Peak last night. the fresh snow was like glue. you could be cruising down a trail, but once it flattened out a little bit, if you hit untracked snow, it would practically stop you in your tracks. last run I almost when head first over the skis, that's how drastic the slow down was. Never experienced that before.
