A very slight hint of autumn this afternoon.

9:05pm… 55/54

Definitely feels early for mid-50s.

Also tonight was the first night it really hit me that it’s pitch black prior to 9pm.  It’s dark by 8pm, such that being outdoors by ambient light is done by then.

Twilight is much shorter, none of this lingering light until 10pm.  You need to be home or have an artificial light source by 8pm.

Temps radiate much quicker too.  Temp and dew can meet much earlier in the evening.

The water temps on Long Island sound have been insanely warm this summer.

Went out on my neighbors boat early this morning and the water temp was 83 in the harbor. She said she heard there was a pod of bottle nose dolphins spotted in the sound last night.

And people are catching rare fish like this.

Rare cobia caught in Long Island Sound sets CT record.

A nearly 5-foot-long fish pulled from Long Island Sound is a species not normally found north of Virginia, according to officials, has been confirmed as a new Connecticut record.

This is sensor is out at the entrance to New Haven Harbor.

I honestly am not sure I have ever seen it this bad in my area...if we whiff on Tuesday, I don't think there will be any question that this is the worst that I have seen it.

Droughts are real and they happen here. There’s been many disbelievers over the years on this forum. The 1930’s and 60’s can easily be what this turns into for most of SNE . Especially with possibility of few or no coastals . Now.. if we get that cane to hit.. then it ends quickly

They have been doing a job on the cobia for over a month here on the south shore.
