I remember an ice storm in the early 90’s where it rained at 16. Maybe 1994? An inch of ice everywhere and UMD started classes a week late.

Yeah that was Jan or Feb 1994. Everything shut down around here due to extremely frigid temperatures after the ice.  My parents were here, but I was in Louisville where we had 13” snow and were supposed to get 1”. It was too cold for ice melt.

3 miles south of Waldorf, I have been mixing with sleet for about 30 minutes. The flake size has increased over the past hour but sleet is mixed in. I expect a complete change to sleet within an hour. It's coming northwest. Salisbury is 41 now and it's in the low 50's in Norfolk/Va Beach area already. That screaming 850 jet means business this evening. Good luck to those well away from the tidal waters.

Yea we stopped skiing early and had lunch. Now at split rock pools.  Tomorrow will be awesome if the wind dies down.  We probably won’t get too much between 6pm-midnight in the dryslot but I expect the upslope to start cranking by 1-2am. I could see another 6-10” from that later tonight through tomorrow.

Tuesday gonna be the money day there. Really miss that place!

BIG flakes mixing back in with the sleet. So it may not be entirely over for people when they see a switch over.

I gotta say I have never seen it sleet at 22F.

I saw sleet in the Blizzard of 96 and Blizzard of 2003 and temps were quite cold then as well. I think I was getting sleet in the teens in 96.
