At 8:00am in Carlisle the temperature has dropped to 31.3 degrees.  It dropped below freezing about 30 minutes ago.  It is snowing moderately with finer flakes.  The winds were practically calm 30 minutes ago but now have begun to pick up...5-10 mph.  New snow and storm total is 1.2".  Looking great out there.  Aren't Saturday snowstorms great?  Remember Jan '16?

It’s great to see the reports of 7 to 8 inches of snow in western PA with still a bit to go out there.

That is a good sign for us further east.

Yep most of Pittsburgh area received about 7 or 8. Great storm and an overperformer to boot.

At 9:00am in Carlisle the temperature is down to 29.5 degrees.  During the past hour only an additional 0.3" of snow has fallen (sadly).  This brings the storm total to 1.5".  Winds have been variable between <5mph to up to 15mph.  The snow intensity was never more than moderate and with fine flakes not much accumulated.  Let's see what the next hour brings.

I believe best rates of day are going to be in band forming among 81.  Just getting in to it now.

Down to 27.9 now. Snow blowing sideways at times and when it blows off the rooftops creates nearly whiteout conditions. From a high of 57 mostly sunny degrees yesterday afternoon to this today. The weather and power of nature is truly something to behold...
