2.12” and light rain. Feels like a tropical storm, I’m about to Jebwalk it.

What is it with Oct 29? Snowtober, Sandy, now this…

Facebook... I mean Meta (lol), reminded me today was Snowtober. What a fun day.

Interesting cell has formed down near Goochland. Much further west than the main activity.

The models have been indicating that some scattered convection would develop in the dry slot, where some weak instability would develop.   Fortunately, the good low-level shear is rapidly moving away to the northeast.

Alexandria already in with the third highest water level behind Isabel and 1936, before what was supposed to be the highest peak tonight:

I think that list is definitely missing some events, though, like Fran, Hazel, etc.

Cambridge, MD, is going well ahead of the forecasted curve:

@GATECH that parking lot at Belle Haven marina is where I first started looking for flood waters. The road to the marina was covered in at least a foot of water.

Not surprised GW closed. It was getting bad around 2pm and not even high tide

Drove by about 230, the whole northbound side of the parkway was underwater by that time l.

How until somebody posts “we could use some rain”.

Over/under 10 days?

I'm sure. Won't be me. I loved the dry period, just not the temps and humidity. Getting a bit too wet now, and my yard has been in the jip zone compared to other locales. Give me 2 weeks of rainless, seasonably cool weather after today.

Solomons Island, MD, easily beat their all-time record highest water level, with water still rising until 10 pm. Here are the storms tonight's water level beat, from now 2nd place on down to 7th place: Isabel, Ernesto, Ash Wednesday '62, Connie, Fran, and Juan remnants.

Not seeing anything close to this on official guages:

Max today MHHW 3.33 ft

Isabel MHHW 5.18 ft

2.72” so far.

Over 5” this week, and I’m really glad I cleaned out the gutters yesterday. I had a clogged downspout and Monday’s storm got into the foundation and had the sump pump working overtime. After cleaning the leaves and debris yesterday, sump pump is still working a lot, but much less.
