Right under the northern part in Franklin Farm, two huge thunder claps woke me up and then there was just constant lightning (1 per second) and my whole family woke up. Have 2.80 inches of rain and the lightning is now stopping a bit. Whole family has said that they have never seen anything like it and the weird part is that there has been little thunder except if it is super loud. Anyways looks like the storm is just a taste of what's to come. That said there have been near constant spin ups so this shows how any storm even at night can be rotating in this environment, I really hope schools decide to not open today. Also the power has gone off and on three times.

Radar estimates somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.5-2.3 inches fell during that storm IMBY. That's almost as much as some of the models had for me for the entire even  - just goes to show you that while global and even mesoscale model output is a good guide - individual cells/clusters can boom or bust your total pretty easily. Add in whatever comes later today (and any showery stuff in between) and we could easily get some beefy rain totals even though guidance had the worst flood threat NW.
