Anyone know a GFS sample output site similar to wxweb.meteostar.com/sample ?  Looks like they shut down and I like the tabulated data it had.

Site goes offline May 19... anyone have another site that tabulates the GFS data like this?  I hate clicking through multiple graphics to see all the data.

Some of the models have bumped the heavier rains a little further north here in the DVN cwa for tonight.  Looks like 1-2" of rain could be on the way for here/QC. :raining:

The heavier rains didn't make it up this way but still picked up a respectable 0.31", with some very light rain still coming down.  Up to 3.19" for the month now.

Looks like another slug of rains later tonight/tomorrow morning that could deliver another 1/2" or more.

a far cry form ORDs totals just 160 miles NE

Well, so long as it isn't dry to the south higher dewpoints can still advect north at night.  Dryness is not 2012 widespread.  Just need a front and low level jet to be aimed right for once.

Models and forecast were awful on rainfall amounts for here for the past 2 days. Way too high. Just been bouts of light rain, adding up to 0.30". Didn't want a ton of rain...don't need it...but a little more would've been better for my new sod in the backyard. :D

PIA has had almost as much rain this month as ORD has had for the year.  5.30" to 5.52"

The positive news for breaking the drought at ORD sometime in the next few months is that it hasn't been dry in nearby upstream locations such as yours.  Doesn't guarantee anything, but you'd rather see that than all kinds of dryness to the sw.

Steady rain continues to fall, now up to 0.94".  Looks like more rains are developing upstream over west-central IL so another 1/4-1/2" is possible by morning.  Over 4" for May, and over 13" for the year now.  MLI is up to over 14" for the year. :raining:

In the meantime, our forecast out this way has had rain in it for almost every period since last Saturday night.  Total ?  The big T.  If we don't see anything making it this far east today, we're out of luck until at least early next week and more likely mid-week. The rich get richer....

I was attending an online workshop hosted by IWX yesterday and after it was over a couple of mets and a couple of us stayed online for awhile.  They are becoming pretty concerned about drought in our area.  Even though Hoosier takes some ribbing about it, the drought thread may have legs for at least part of the subforum.

Madison had 6 70 degree days during the same stretch.  Pretty crazy

Cedar Rapids hit 87º on May 1st and 85º on May 2nd.  CR officially just hit 70º for the first time since May 2nd.  Two 70+ days from May 1-18 is the least number since 1945.

A little light rain this aftrn with fog that rolled in off the Lake. A much needed wet stretch coming up in the next 7 days with a little thunder possible. Dandelions are pretty thick in the lawns around here this week as the temps were very nice for mid May. :)

I picked up 0.10" of rain yesterday, 0.05" early this morning, and then another 0.13" late this afternoon.  Of course, it was cloudy all day again.  We've had about an hour or two of sun all week.  This gloomy, wet moist plume up through Iowa really needs to go the f away.

Damn, different story here today.  Had a decent amount of clouds, but plenty of mixed sun and a building cu field.  Kind of looked like a storm could pop out of some of those but they didn't.  Made it to 83 both here and MLI.  These mid 60 degree dews the past few days feel more like the mid 70s after the desert-like air masses we've had most of the spring.
