I witnessed both and here in Liberty NY on 5.9.20 we had .5 of snow; barely a trace on Long Island

@uncle W do you have a source where I can browse through in an easy way record high/Low temps  and snow for each day of the year for Syracuse NY?

Thanks !

Please don't...I have all day golfing, fishing, and drinking planned.

I find it very strange someone would root for a cold, windy, rainy weekend day in May in New York lol.

We can use the rain. I’ll gladly take it. Rain now means less brown turf in June/July and when we’re largely hoping for wayward T-storms to get most of our rain.

I no longer believe we'll get a hot summer like I thought we would before, and that volcano in the Caribbean is the reason why.

We might have one hot month, July, with about a 3 day window for extreme heat (100?) but I no longer believe the summer will be hot like an 11 yr cycle summer.  Might be the 1977 variety, which was similar to what I just outlined.

a trace of snow on long island in May is like winning the world series lol.

Since you were in Lynbrook and I was away in the Poconos were there two small periods of flurries and nothing stuck and did it get down to 32?  Or 34?

weird to see this happen in 1966 and 1977 two of our hot 11 yr summers and 1966 being the hottest until 2010...did it snow in May 1966?

Being the day before Mother's Day, there are tons of outdoor crafts fairs and other vendor shows planned for the 8th. After we missed out on a year of sales from those types of events, it would be a real kick in the nads to lose the day to a nor'easter.

8th warmest spring so far in NYC. So it’s no surprise to see the models indicating 80° potential for the warm spots on Sunday.

So, as noted in a 'please verify' post earlier this page, 00z-06z/1 ensemble modeling is trending toward a sharpening digging trough here that may yield a sizable winterlike storm Friday the 7th, with 40-50kt wind gusts (coasts), heavy rain (coasts) and maybe a little wet snow elevations.  Still plenty of room to miss us to the east, or be weaker than a 985MB sfc low but worthy of monitoring. Possibly threading this, Sunday or Monday?  Need NAVGEM and GGEM to shift back to the west, the EC op to accept the occasional GFS cycle operational big storm concept for our NYC metro.  Again, not threaded yet due too much chance of this storm slipping too far to our east-northeast.
