...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 PM CDT FOR CENTRAL
PICKENS COUNTY...

At 146 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located 7 miles southeast of Prairie Point, or 7 miles west of
Aliceville, moving northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is
         likely.

Locations impacted include...
Aliceville, Reform, Carrollton, Pickensville, McMullen, Garden,
Bevill Lock And Dam, Gainesville Lake Campground, Dillburg, McShan,
George Downer Airport, Owens and Cochrane.

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

  Southeastern Transylvania County in western North Carolina...
  Southeastern Henderson County in western North Carolina...
  Southwestern Polk County in western North Carolina...
  Northern Greenville County in Upstate South Carolina...
  Northwestern Spartanburg County in Upstate South Carolina...
  Northern Pickens County in Upstate South Carolina...

* Until 330 PM EDT.

* At 240 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located 10 miles north of Pickens, or near Table Rock State
  Park, moving east at 40 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree
           damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
  Jones Gap State Park and Caesars Head State Park around 300 PM
  EDT.
  Pleasant Ridge State Park, Tigerville, Slater-Marietta and
  Travelers Rest around 310 PM EDT.
  Lake Robinson around 320 PM EDT.
  Campobello, Landrum and Tryon around 330 PM EDT.

Other locations impacted by this dangerous thunderstorm include
Sunset, Gowensville, Pumpkintown, North Saluda Reservoir and Glassy
Mountain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

A brief, weak tornado is likely. Mobile homes could be flipped.
Falling trees can cause death or serious injury, and major damage to
houses. Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of
a sturdy building.

At 147 PM CDT, a confirmed large and destructive tornado was located
over Mount Laurel, or near Chelsea, moving northeast at 45 mph.

TORNADO EMERGENCY for Hwy 280 and 119. This is a PARTICULARLY
DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!

HAZARD...Deadly tornado.

SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.

IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may
         be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes
         will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes,
         businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete destruction
         is possible.
