From the looks of it, the mean is also very generous for most areas.

the mean looks to be about 18" for the metro a little more west a little less east (adding the h24 and h48 totals). around 32" on the mean for Estes, with 47" for the max. more in the higher terrain N and E of Estes

really slams just NW of Fort Collins and up into WY. up to 60" on the mean for the high terrain in WY. 80" on the max.

also 80" max 55" mean near Cameron pass west of Fort Collins

Ya If you really peak at Estes and Fort Collins it looks you really want elevation (relatively speaking) .  The Estes Bowl on 18z HRRR that Midlo wx posted last page sticks out pretty hard due to local downsloping on E flow (Less QPF by a good margin but probably overdone a bit)  you wanna be on NE side or S edge of that town. Anything near Fort Collins just needs a bit more elevation ...just W of them seems to be very isolated , not much residential spots above 6K

I always find Meso Scale weather Phenomena very interesting , i won't harp on it anymore, as this should be a awesome storm for everyone.

Sorry I missed we have an actual storm-dedicated thread!  It's fairly cranking in Laporte over the last twenty minutes but still fairly warm at 35ish degrees.  I wonder if Laporte will get a bit more than Fort Collins being a tad higher and closer to the foothills, or will the Cheyenne Ridge keep that from happening?  We recently moved from central Fort Collins to basically the middle of Laporte and it's amazing how much louder the lightning is against the foothills and how different the weather can be here than just a few miles away in town.

You can see on Weather Underground Meso net that area SW side of Fort Collins is running 30-31 along 38E by Horse Tooth Area while rest of town is 33-34

Dry slot always looked like an issue in Boulder but that was later...maybe this is just a lull there now. 18z Gfs looked best with Dryslot further south.

It's hard to stay positive on this mess.  As I look at my gauge with a measly .08 so far.

EDIT - ok, I guess not so bad.  Peeking at the 06z para GFS from this morning, it was showing .09" for my area at this timeframe.

Where are you located Valpo? With the snow not being bad yet even here  wondering if I should head out N to a dif spot while I still can but idk. This is always the stressful part of chasing. We’ll know by like 11-12 tonight and how radar is looking
