lacrosse 78400 unit question

i got this 79400 model la crosse last fall and i know it does not have wifi but i'm curious if anyone has figured out yet how to get it fixed or find a way to get it online enough to see the unit on your phone.

i also figured out the vane so it is a better at holding the wind direction without as some call it helicoptering.  but it would be nice to be able to see the unit on my phone if just at home when i'm not in front of the display.  it was made with a wifi chip but from what i learned it had an issue so the fmg turned off the wifi. but being there are lots of guys that like tinkering i'm curious if one of them has figured out a way around that issue. as for the unit mine looks to be close to what the local weather underground web site show for wind direction and temps, but the wind speed is not quite the same, that may just be a normal.
