Watch this trend the right way the last 24 hours. Nam suggest the lsv gets a quick .3 to .5” of qpf.    With rates and an earlier start we could be looking at a 3-6” hit
Im going with 1” for Cashtown with 6” reported by trainingtime.

Real quick hitter. Could come in hot and heavy. Very interesting system.

Going to be very interesting to see what schools do around here tomorrow. I’m a first grade teacher myself and my district has been in person since August. When we have snow days this year, we teach from home so the kids aren’t even getting “snow days” anymore! That is so frustrating to me :fulltilt:, but that’s another conversation lol...

We had virtual learning snow days both Thursday and Friday...this could be the third snow day in a row! Something tells me though many schools are going to try to get to school tomorrow because of that fact...

Also, schools tend to follow local TV meteorologists...and both WGAL and ABC 27 down here are underplaying this.

I had commented about the coming quandary a few days.  Not cool to have busses rolling with snow falling and covered roads.

One of the most satisfying aspects of the past few weeks to me is being in the "refill pattern." One thing that has been rare for years is snow on snow. This past week I had bare spots. Thursday took care of that. There will be a lot of melting today, hopefully tomorrow takes care of that. It's been fun all the way around - lots to track, lots to admire on the landscape.  Good times...

Great pics. You should take a ride up top of Wopsy. Looks similar to Blue Knob. Really beautiful with the snow on ice covering everything. The large pine trees covered with snow and ice are gorgeous

I did just that not too long ago, it definitely didn’t disappoint haha. It really sticks out with the clear skies today, I wish I could load the full quality pics on here. It’s always wild the difference 4 miles and 1100’ of elevation makes.

All water under the bridge.

BGM

The high sun angle this time of year will keep snow ratios possibly
below 10:1, especially across our southern counties in NE PA.
Snowfall rates will likely not be too intense, especially by
early Monday afternoon, and the high sun angle may make
accumulations tough on paved surfaces. Snowfall amounts will
likely be very elevation dependent through the day Monday and
some changeover to rain will be a possibility across the lower
terrain. The higher terrain in NE PA is forecast to see 3 to 4
inches, while valleys get 1 to 3.

Beautiful! It’s a different world up there isn’t it? Always like going to the lookout during all the seasons. We use to go up there for meteor showers but there’s to much light up there now with the cell towers and buildings . Enjoyed the pics

I have also appreciated the "what's next" results from the last 4 or 5 weeks.  Even now as we go into a borderline high wwa situation, next weekend has opened up as a tracking target.

There’s some beautiful homes up there. New home construction has increased in that area the last couple years. There are some nice trails and state game lands up there. It’s nice because you’re close to Altoona but in the wilderness of beautiful mountains, streams and picturesque sunsets

First time in history this sentence has ever been said with a straight face.

33/8.   Nice DP to head into the eve of a storm.

The models are starting to slightly juice up this storm tomorrow. The Dew points are very low for all of CTP this evening.

It will be an interesting 4 to 6 hours to see how much snow we can score.

Here are the 18z GFS, Para & RGEM.

C’mon man...it’s not that bad around here. We have great outdoor activities..biking and hiking, skiing, boating, hunting/fishing. We have one of the nicest minor league parks in baseball. Yeah there’s some marginal people around but where isn’t that? And it’s a pretty safe place to live. Good schools and a very nice PSU Altoona campus. Great shopping , restaurants and taverns. Check us out some time. You’ll like it..lol
