January 28th Snow Threat

Recommended Posts

Still snow mixing with rain just north of North Hills in Raleigh however the snow is much more prominent and trying to fully change-over now.  Considering the reports around me, I don't think it will be long now, but still plenty of rain mixing.

Mixing in pretty good here in Raleigh near Millbrook/Glenwood. I noticed the rain sounded quieter and went to look outside.

Congrats central and NE folks, it looks beautiful. 12 miles south of GSO where I’m located it’s just now starting to mix and the back edge is quickly approaching.  If things don’t change soon portions of the Triad and points south are going to get nada. Disappointing, but hey I’m glad the Triangle and points NE are finally cashing in!

Wow already have flakes flying in Norfolk. Didn't really go through much a period of rain at all. Temperatures are still in the upper 30s though.

I can’t believe it but the ground is almost covered in North Raleigh!!!

How far in North Raleigh?  elevated surfaces here near North Hills are getting covered, but not the ground.  We have converted to 100% snow now though.

We’re more northwest Raleigh, about five miles from the Durham County line.

Wow!  Where are you in North Raleigh?  That’s amazing!

Louisburg. Little northeast of Raleigh. Think I picked the right spot

One of the best things about a storm like this is when the sound of dripping stops and that cold quiet noise overtakes the land. This is looking like a legit snowstorm this way tonight. Temp 32 and moderate snow
