This does not bode well for us Forsyth County folks.

.

Luckily I’m near ECU right now, so being down east may work in my favor for once. But I experienced the heartbreak in Winston-Salem a few weeks ago

If that's the 850 level. That Lp center is consolidating and dropping south east.

Looking at radar confirms.

Besides some flakes. Greensboro slightly east all the back to the mountains can forget about snow.

Hell even Roxboro may have a hard time.

If it snows ... It will be favorable NE Raleigh SE VA.

Made the move up to the farm in Louisburg for the storm. Feel like I’m in a really good place here. Temp at 39 and some light showers moving through. I do think this has pushed East. Triad may for once not be the place to be. I will be happy with 2” ecstatic with 4 and will call it a bust under 2, based on models for this area. Good luck everyone

waiting to see how right the models are for MBY....wouldnt be surprised to get 1-2" also wouldnt be surprised to see 4-6".....or even nothing but rain. Still the model trend has been for 4-5 hrs of decently heavy snow on the hi res models....hopefully the surface temps crash to freezing faster than forecast to maximize the snow that does fall.

Looking at the radar.

The sw vortex has reached a neutral to slightly negative form.

Greensboro to hickory to Spartanburg downsloping already beginning.

For one trying to learn can you explain this a little bit?  I understand positive/negative tilt, and I understand downsloping, but I do not understand the connection between them.

Taking out DT and enabling the jinx, all in one day!  Maybe tomorrow you can drop an asteroid on us.  :gun_bandana:

I'll see what I can do! BTW, you're likely not getting snow tonight.

Definitely not.  But news travels fast and Van Denton just increased our chances for a catastrophic asteroid strike here in the triad to 80%!  Well done!  :ee:

Van may be looking at 6" in his back yard by the end of Sunday... of course he has a snow gun contraption to play with!

Idk I'm not invested in this one but if I lived in the Triad and maybe even Raleigh I would be worried looking at the radar and the fact it hasn't even changed over in Danville

I'm closely watching my security cams in Stuart.  Looks like the changeover is still sitting along the ridges but coming soon.

IIRC, didn’t a lot of the modeling not show the changeover for the Triad until well after midnight?  Even so, there might not be much QPF left for us once conditions are favorable. LOL
