Todays storm, with 13.3 inches in Central Park as of 1:00 PM, has already cracked the top 30 all time in NYC. It will be interesting how high it climbs up the list today. If they don't get mixing issues early this could reach the top 10, maybe even the top 4.

Had no idea that 12"+ snowfalls were that unusual. Seems like we have one every couple of years or so these days.

There have now been 39 foot plus storms in NYC, but 11 have now occurred since the year 2000.

Also there have been 67 storms of 10 inches plus. Who really can tell the difference between 10 & 12, minor.

20.2 in 96 still sends me into a rage

28+ in Newark and 24+ in LGA and that F'n 20.2 right in between the two in Central Park. It was 25-28  inches easy, there were several periods of accumulating snow after they under measured the 20.2 and they never even bothered to update.

Are we 100% sure it's wrong or is this just another weenieism?

Nothing will beat 1996 for me. The storm was so intense I honestly think it was hard to get spotters to even do snow measurements. It's hard to explain how intense that storm was... The drifts were ridiculous too!

@snywx @crossbowftw3 @Ericjcrash How are your accumulations and current conditions?

There is a vicious band parked in Sullivan county and im def feeling the effects here. Heavy snow. 0z NAM is giving the area an additional 12"

10:30 PM Liberty NY 20" OTG 9 of which came in the last 3 hours. That band is sitting right over my house training and back building; would not be surprised if I wind up with 24-30 inches

Meanwhile at Lynbrook about 12 inches or so. What is the exact position of the LOW  I'm the red dot
