Feels like it could be a bust here...or was the first wave that came through not really supposed to amount to anything and it's mostly whats in West Tennessee thats expected to add up?

Looks like it started breaking up. Wasn't sure if it was the Plateau affecting radar or the band dying out.

The main snow per Morristown here is just before daybreak until noonish.

It's 29 degrees here, the ground seems semi- frozen ( as much as possible since it got dark) , if we get anything it should pile up pretty quickly without too much melting....hope the next bands don't fall apart

Can report snow in White House but unfortunately temp went up from 32.2 to 33.6 even with snow falling. Two different gages so I know it’s not busted. Snow is accumulating though.

Have about an inch , light snow falling , holding steady at 29 after going to 30 briefly

That's great. Was it from the 1st wave or the bigger wave that's moving in now?

It's odd, the Western plateau is just eating it up it looks like. It's like its hitting a wall there. Don't know if its an angle thing or what. It just won't move past Fentress down to Cumberland Co.

After reading the AFD from MRX the mid-levels of the atmosphere aren't saturated here so that's why it looks like the precip is falling apart.  Looks like another hour or two before it gets here.

I don't have access to a good radar picture, but it's still snowing at a good clip , medium and small flakes mixed. Approaching two inches, I hope you get this in your neck of the woods!

Same here. I went to bed about 3.5 hours ago and it hadn't started here yet so I'm surprised since when I went to bed it seemed it was all west of Nashville. Hopefully it keeps up and we all get some snow that'll last more than a day or so with the colder temps ahead. This is already the best winter in three or four years at least here.

Sorry for crappy pic quality

Finally started in earnest here about 30 minutes ago. Temp actually went from 31 to 32 when the snow picked up.

Same thing happened here, temperature went up one degree, that's interesting.

MRX for SW VA:

Another interesting thing to watch for this afteroon will be the
slight chance for thunder snow; this is only for our southwest VA
counties though. The SPC has this area under general thunder
during the afternoon due to the steep low-to mid-level lapse
rates and 100 J/kg SBCAPE that will be in place. This may allow
for enough updraft buoyancy to generate a lighting discharge.
Though the chances are slim it isn`t out of the question.

Up to quarters falling now. Probably 1/2, mile visibility. Heaviest snow so far. Temp went back up 1 degree when it started snowing hard. I've never seen temps fall when it's snowing less and rise when it gets harder.
