47 in my driveway at 6:30 this morning. It was in the upper 40s all the way through CT until about 8am. Nice morning :)

Nice. KMGJ got down to 48, the Wallkill and wetlands around me doing their thing, as is a fall tradition.  I assume it’s the dews don’t drop quite enough, could also be all the leaves on the trees still holding in just enough warmth.

sandy areas are always the kings of radiational cooling

I don't usually radiate well being high on a hillside, this was more widespread. Like I said, it was 40s well into CT.

Good morning gl. The only thing that radiates well in my postage stamp is me. Everything else holds onto the heat like an atmospheric aphrodisiac. As always …….

.02 again makes it .04 for the week. Shaded areas are still wet but sunny areas are hardpan on the surface and dry a few inches down.

The garden is definitely winding itself down now, most things just don't seem to want to be growing anymore do I'm pretty much letting it fade. Still pulling tomatoes and peppers and the late planted potatoes are doing really well but the rabbits made short work of turnip greens and peas.

Dodging Santas and reindeer while mowing this year

and getting chased by mosquitos

I can picture reindeer getting bit by them and dumping Santa right out of the sleigh and him falling head first and getting his head stuck in a chimney with his fat ass sticking out

(oops I guess I get no presents this year lol)

46 for a low today. I just noticed that July 2020 was the last month here without a low in the 40s.

I just gots back from visiting my son at Notre Dame for the weekend, I fully expected my first 40s to be this morning while I was still out there but nope, 50 for the low again.

I feel for you Julian, considering both Santa and the reindeer will be dropping a heavy load. Liberty, just coat the chimney with WD40, make sure the hearth has a deep soft layer of ash and leave some special ingredient hot cocoa and cookies. As always ….

Nice,  hope you were able to get a couple tickets to the game.

Yes but I secured them before my son found out he can get tickets at face value with relative ease.  He’s even going to to Chicago this weekend for the Shamrock Series game against Wisconsin, going to see the Cubs on Friday night too.
