The HiRes NAM has much lower ice totals than these lower resolution models (e.g., NAM and RGEM). I would tend to give it greater credence and doubt those high totals will realize.

Also seems like the models spitting out high ice totals, like the RGEM, do wonky things with convection.

The HRRR is picking up on this is well... Could be interesting, with some pretty wild dynamics. Short lived window though, just before going into a dry slot

DGZ looks dry per that sounding.

Big push of dry air.

Pretty significant warm nose too.

Outside of the mountains.

Pretty much a good  probably of erasing anything frozen or freezing. A sealed deal.

3km NAM with a slow warming trend.  This is for 7AM tomorrow.  Last image in the loop is from tonight's 00z run.

I’m just hoping we can bottom out as far as possible here before WAA ensues. 30.7 with dew of 25 so it’s been slowly but surely dropping. Forecasted to get to 30 so we’re close.

15 miles NE of Greensboro and the radar is starting to fill in to my SW. Sitting at 33 currently. Things could get a little interesting soon. Was the precip supposed to start already? It’s actually filling in nicely.

update 12:09 light IP/ZR well that escalated quickly.

3rd flizzard of the night here..winning!

Glad you got to see some flakes.  Didn't see anything definitive here so went to bed.  Looked out around 4 AMish and thought there was a light glaze but when I got up was raining and 34 ugh lol. I didn't expect must this time, but with a CAD there is always a little hope

Low of 31.6 here on the west side of Winston. Enough for a glaze on anything elevated, probably 0.05” in the higher tree tops. Drove up 52 to the NW corner of Forsyth for lunch and there was about 0.10”, but with more even distribution. Always interesting to see the variation in ice accrual with just minor elevation changes (50-100ft) in these borderline events.
