...AN INTENSE RAIN SHOWER WILL AFFECT HUDSON...EASTERN PASSAIC...
BERGEN...QUEENS...BRONX...KINGS AND NEW YORK (MANHATTAN) COUNTIES...

At 1120 AM EDT, an intense rain shower was located near Rockaway
Beach, moving northwest at 55 mph.

Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
New York, Paterson, Passaic, Wayne, Hoboken, Hackensack, Bergenfield,
Paramus, Ridgewood, Lyndhurst, Rutherford, Secaucus, Ramsey,
Ridgefield and Midtown Manhattan.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service in Upton NY has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...

  Sandy Hook NJ to Fire Island Inlet NY out 20 NM...

  New York Harbor...

* Until 1215 PM EDT.

* At 1116 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 7 nm southwest of
  Island Park, moving northwest at 45 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 400 PM EDT for northeastern
New Jersey...and southeastern New York.

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
