Rain was so intense we had to get off 495 in Milford and go hit five guys burgers.  Constant cloud to ground lightning while driving South.
we left Greenfield at 4 PM and had not gotten a drop of rain today.

A drive along the pike would be a lot of fun about now

Just got home from the cape... Pouring the length of the pike, crazy lightning.  Then all sorts of trees and branches and wires down through Palmer and S Belchertown.  Roads closed had to detour several times.  SILs in Ware no power and damage.  Not quite as bad here by Quabbin however.  Will have to review the radar data.

Been an active couple months here.

Just had a strike in front of the house way too close for comfort. Saw the flash and heard the pop and sizzle. Amazingly it didn't seem to hit anything. I'm 66 now and never experienced lightning like that.

Well, TV and adjustable platform bed got fried by the strike. Never lost power, but must have been quite a spike.

It's like the late winter equivalent of when Tip starts talking about how warm the interior of vehicles is now getting in the sunshine, and DIT starts calling snowfalls as "stat padders only" because daytime snow starts leading to wet pavement.

Truth told, TT posts about car temps around January 15th.  :)

just had more thunder. An eventful late-day and evening.

That’s some big rain.

There's an axis of 4-6" rain, with a surrounding zone of 2-4", and widespread 1"+ rainfall.  Like Tip said earlier, that's some Iowa stuff.

Here's a snapshot of RT 9 in Mass... got raked.

Bring a bucket and a mop for that wet-ass Massy
