So far Isaias has seemingly underperformed as far as rain totals. Likely due to its rapid motion NNE. That could change when ET transition completes and the circulation slows down with trough interaction over upper New England and Maine. Wind reports on the other hand seem to verify the TC as very much living up to the high wind potential.

I'd imagine tree damage and power outages are going to cover a huge region by the time this event winds down over night. Fully leaved trees and thick foliage doesn't play nice with such a large swath of 60-70 kt gusts that appear to be occurring well inland.

I used to live in West Orange, NJ (Essex County) and my old neighbor just sent me these pictures of my old house.  This large tree fell today.  Pretty ironic I now live in Boca Raton, FL and closed my shutters with zero impacts.

It's been wild here today.  Missed a spin-up by 1/4 mile.   I was at the beach recording video.  Consistent gusts in the 60s and some hurricane force gusts over the last 2 hours.

I am VERY impressed by the winds on Long Island where I am from and the NYC Metro!

Also, Here are some final edits from the big outer rain band that approached Raleigh NC around 5:30pm on 8/3:

To me it's much more about the precip shield being displaced by 25-35 miles NW, not that the forecast amount of rain didn't fall and the key reason for the displacement was that the storm center ended up 25-30 miles NW of where it was predicted to be even as of last night and the heaviest rain was always forecast to be along and NW of the track. The storm track was about 20 miles NW of the Delaware River in SNJ/SEPA vs. a forecast of being 5-10 miles east of the river last night and more than that a day ago.  Isaias went right over Doylestown PA, when it was supposed to be closer to about Bordentown and is now around the far NW corner of NJ vs. heading towards about Ringwood.

If you took that precip map and moved everything SE about 30 miles, that was the forecast we had last night with most near 95 and NW of there getting 3-6" and coastal areas getting 1-2". Fairly significant late track miss, as track errors are typically +/- 25 miles at 12 hours out; track was even a bit further east at 5 pm yesterday.  Winds were forecast quite well, as max gusts look to mostly be 60-70 mph, not the 80-90+ some were touting based on a couple of models last night.

From the archives... This was a wild storm! I don’t care if it was only a cat 1 it was an absolute gem in the weather nerd world! I mean 60 pages of discussion on this forum warrants a medal or something, right?

Prolific tornado producer. Bertie county NC rated an EF-3 winds 140-145 with a track length of 10 miles and width of 600yds from a tropic cyclone.

Tornado in Delaware tracked 29.2 miles the longest track in the state of Delaware in 70 years.

I'm sure as more surveys are completed there will be more surprises.
