So how warm of a summer has it been? Well If August Ended yesterday here in Chester County PA (outside the PHL heat island readings) the full summer months of (June-July-August) would have averaged as the 10th warmest summer (1894 to Present). However, both averages and actual readings will be declining through months end so more like a top 20 appears likely. Below are the top 10 summers in Chester County since 1894 and their average temperatures.

(1) 1900 - 75.8 /(2) 1999 - 75.1 /(3) 1901 - 75.0 /(4) 1944 - 75.0 /(5) 1955 - 75.0 /(6) 1943 - 74.9 /(7) 2002 - 74.6 /(8) 1898 - 74.5 / (9) 1988 - 74.1/ (10) 2020 (incomplete) 74.1

So when did we have the warmest summers (June/July/August) by decade? below are the 13 warmest decades

(1) 1890's - 73.1 / (2) 1930's - 73.1 / (3) 1900's - 73.0 / (4) 1910's - 73.0 / (5) 1940's - 72.9 / (6) 1990's - 72.6 / (7) 1950's - 72.3 / (8) - 2000's -72.3 / (9) - 2010's - 72.2 / (10) 1920's - 72.1/ (11) 1960's - 72.1 / (12) 1980's - 72.0 / (13) 1970's - 71.5

I'm going to attempt yard work in this mess before the rain moves in. Should be fun turning into a human puddle....

5th day in a row here moving rocks and screenings. Trying to beat the theoretical heavy rain...getting close to being ready even though there will be a few days of "touch up" afterward. It's been brutal as you can imagine! Currently 85F with DP 78+.

Did some stuff outside already but still gotta hit the lawn. Wearing a black t-shirt but it looks black from the sweat.

Good luck w/the rock movement. Hopefully you don't get slammed again and all your work goes down the drain.

Stuff starting to pop up around Philly. Better get my ass in gear...

The pop-up storms have begun just before noon around the city and have kicked into high gear in Jersey!  Warning just got lofted there.  The overcast dropped my temp down from 91 to 85 but still with dps in the mid-70s (75 at the moment).  My lightning detector has been active the past half hour or so.

ETA - stuff has been firing almost on top of Mt. Holly WFO. LOL

Guidance is weak on qpf surprised a flood watch is warranted this far north. But the NAM is focused on lower counties and Kamu land.

Yeah, I don't know if we're going to get in on this especially you. Seems like in and around Philly south and the stuff isn't really moving.
