There has been a significant meso with the storm moving across Lee Co, with associated WAA wing extending eastward into the Chicago metro.

The same meso that passed just north of here an hour ago or so.

Looks like a tor touched down in Henry CO earlier.  CC showed a debris sig as the weak couplet passed south of Atkinson.  I'm sure DVN will confirm a birdfart EF0 tomorrow.

Up to 3.09".

Worst and most significant/widespread flooding I have experienced here is ongoing.

Most roads are several blocks in which they are partially to fully underwater, many with feet of standing or flowing water...with many closed. The nearby creek flooded a large park complex, which has backed up onto a nearby road. There is one stretch of a nearby road where several blocks are under feet of water, with cars submerged to above their windows and water is entering homes.

Up until now the period of tropical remnants of Sept 2008 featured the worst flooding I had seen around here, but this has now topped that. In that case it was 10"+ of rain over a longer span of time, where this was 4"+ of rain in the past 24hrs...and nearly 2"/hr at one point tonight.

Previous record was 3.45” on 5/29/1981.

Another 1-3 coming late tonight /sunday?

It looks like we will finally be getting in on some of that action down this way. Even though it has rained for the past three days, the grand total was only 0.82". Model consensus is around 2" between tonight and Monday for Northeast IN.

We had a bunch of roads closed out this way yesterday. River went up over the road back near Sun River Terrace. Interested to see if this area can handle more rain, getting around yesterday was annoying

Was literally trapped at home for most of yesterday as moving water was flowing over my driveway. Creeks locally have never been so high except for in 2008. More heavy rain won’t be pretty

Nope, can’t handle anymore. Another 2-4” will pretty much finish things. Juggling working 12 hour days and helping my parents suck water out of their basement is tiring. And they have a sump pump. This is going on 6 years of unprecedented rainfall in IKK. Need a drought badly...
