That was a wild severe day across the northeast. I had my first ever flight that night out of BOS to MSP. I had like 5 hours worth of delays as our plane had a broken radar. I remember a squall hitting the airport sometime after sunset and the wind and rain roared against the glass windows. All flights since then have been pretty easy in comparison....lol.

Do you know or recall if we had damage or strong winds in CT?

Yeah there was widespread damage. Not sure if Tolland got hit specifically but there were a ton of other hail/wind reports and even a few TORs.

A massive derecho hit the Great Lakes before he system reached NE.

Wiz and Ryan may know more about the CT-specific impacts from that event.

I don't need this to tell me to not go swimming if the water's cold.  :)

...National Weather Service Cold Water Safety Message...

...Please check with state and local authorities regarding
guidelines for allowed activities...

* The warm air temperatures today in the 60s may cause people to
underestimate the dangers of the cold water temperatures which are
currently only in the mid 50s across Sebago Lake and Lake
Winnipesaukee, and in the mid and upper 50s in the regions smaller
  lakes and rivers.

* The cold water temperatures can quickly cause hypothermia to
anyone immersed in the water. When the water temperature is below
60 degrees, the average submerged person could loose dexterity
within minutes and be unable to accomplish simple tasks. Anyone
on small boats, canoes, or kayaks should plan accordingly if
recreating this weekend and use extreme caution to avoid this
threat. Paddle smart from the start and always wear your life
  jacket!

* Strong winds are also expected today with gusts between 25 and 30
mph from the northwest. If boating on large bodies of water, these
strong winds can increase the likelihood of overturning your
boat, canoe or kayak due to increased wave heights.

I just went to investigate the rock slide on Mount Mansfield that hit RT 108 in the Notch and all I can say is holy f'in sh*t.

I'll try to post some photos but two rocks hit the road (just went straight through the pavement and into the ground a couple feet) and about a half dozen others carved out swaths through the forest...snapping trees and leaving divots in the ground up to 5 feet deep and the size of garages.  That must've been terrifying... eye witnesses said it sounded like F-18s were flying through the Notch.  The power of that is unbelievable up in person.

A half dozen new slide paths were just created for skiing.  I'm no geologist but the theory would be the very massive temperature swings this month.  The ground wasn't even thawed up there when setting record all-time max temps and then it poured rain and went down to freezing... then the hillside gave way.

Yeah, I hiked West Baldpate in Grafton Notch today and got snowed on.  Took a few vids.  Folks that caught it at the summit described it as a blizzard with zero visibility.  We were still in the woods but it was pretty cool seeing legit flakes falling on May 31.  Wicked cold on the mountain with winds gusting to 30 or so and air temp prob upper 30s
