It follows other states.

Bars, restaurants, casinos, theaters, etc close. If they can offer TOGO they do that but no guests.

If you think a national shutdown isn’t going to happen you need to read up on virus. We had a chance to contain this weeks ago and dodged responsibility.

Our agency is closed but we are working remotely.

I really don't want to get into this but... We would have had to basically shutdown travel in and out of our country back in December to even have a chance to not have this situation. With world wide travel this was bound to show up here. I'm sure there were cases here well before the first reported case.  You cant really come up with an exact time we should have shut the country down.  The longer the country is in shutdown, the ones that are not financially ready for this will be in serious trouble. If you ask me the lack of testing weeks ago is what really hurt.

This x 1000.  Spot on.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY we could control the spread from foreign countries without halting ALL travel in and out.  We missed nothing except the CDC's opportunity to get good testing set up.  They blew it.  Pres. contacted private sector companies and were now getting caught up.

Some need to get off the political soapboxes and realize that there was NO WAY TO STOP THIS FROM COMING HERE.

Good God people.  Use your heads a bit....not your biased media

The lack certainly did, but we had leaders telling people it was gong away and to keep working. We could’ve contained this if we had followed up on those entering the country for quarantine but didn’t, shutting down travel would also have greatly helped.

The greater good is at stake.

(We can all disagree here - let’s not ever get to name calling like other places. We are all good people up in here!)

Not getting into it as well, but we still have people saying it’s just a flu up here and taking no precautions saying it’s no big deal. Those early days of messaging have caused a lot of issues.

What issues has it caused up there?  please share and cite sources.

For 97+% it is no big deal and IS similar to a flue....or less.

I think we’re close in opinion on this but I agree on name calling and the such.

The MJO on the Euro & GEFS is still forecasted to go solidly into phase 2 & phase 3 next week, which are the coldest phases in the East in March.

Also, the 12z EPS finally has the AO heading toward neutral by the last week of the month. It also has the NAO going slightly negative for the last week of the month.

The telleconnections might give us a chance at some winter weather before we fully close the winter shades this season.

The fantasy blizzard on the 12z GFS for March 31st & April 1st was too good not to post.

I think most of us would settle for a small fraction of this snow if we were to get one more storm.

If the .00000001 % chance that this storm were to verify by some miracle, it would be one of the greatest surprise winter comebacks of all time!

Although that makes sense if most people are staying home does it really cause a lot of travel issues?  Would make life tough for first responders.

It is for getting food and supplies to market. A large crippling storm has a major effect on transportation and logistics, and at a time when it's critical to get (and try to keep) food and necessary items on the store shelves, a disruption could cause major problems. Then there are the first responders, as well as other essential business workers, who could be impacted by delays, or not being able to otherwise, under normal conditions, make it into work or wherever they need to be.

I know "Mother Nature" will do what she's going to do regardless of how it impacts us, but I really and sincerely hope for mild and benign weather right now while we battle this medical, and budding financial, crisis.

Yea, I did not think of the supply chain issue but the other way to solve that is to hope people stop hoarding.

I'm glad you clarified, cause I was about to troll the Sh!t outta you ;)

Your point is a fair one, but with the limited travel right now (due to peeps not working, I'd think the widespread issues would be minimized, and trucks can make it through snow without much issue (my bud drives one and says they are safer than a car in a snowstorm).

another way to look at it is that it will keep peeps at home (more than they currently are).

Every coin has 2 sides.....

Be well gang.

I think it would do a lot of good for the mood of people stuck at home, and kids can go outside and enjoy it.

Thats a big win to me.

Blizz, bring it home.  Peeps stay off the roads, so the crew can clean them and keep the truckers rollin'.
