23z HRRR showing 6.7" additional.  Last check, YYZ was up to 2.8" (2.8 + 6.7 = 9.5", which is definitely towards the high end of expectations, unless anyone believed the few clown RAP/GFS runs showing 12"+) .

We would need to start cranking though at some point.  Cloud tops starting to cool and pivot N/NNW across E OH/W PA.  Hopefully that's a good sign.

Radars look unimpressive. Looks like a dry slot towards Oakville and Hamilton.

Latest HRRR has a sharp cut-off across the GTA. Hoping we see some good returns as the storm begins to deepen and retrograde. Column has cooled so ratios should be close to 10:1. Some people are calling it a “bust” on Twitter lol.

I'm starting to think bust too. Not as impressive as I was expecting, unless heavy snow movies in late tonight and overnight.

6-8" on Euro is still a Big Dog storm for,  SE, MI standards.

Just wanted to fill u in. Much of SEMI especially the northern burbs of Detroit did pick their 3rd 6”+ event of the season. 11.2” 7.7” and still going but it’s currently at about 6.0” with maybe another 1” or so. To go. What’s remarkable. This is the 11th 6”+ event since the winter of 17/18.

Been out off and on filming all day. Last measurement I’ve made, I’m up to 6.1” of snow. Barely got my third 6”+ storm of the year. May be able to eek out another tenth or two. My monthly total is at 19.9” now...so an extra tenth or two bone would be nice lol. The pavement stayed mostly wet until about 3pm ish, then it immediately became snow-covered everywhere. There were a lot of accidents on the roads during the evening rush hour.

Video from the rough evening commute:

5.7" here as of midnight. So PERILOUSLY close to a 3rd 6+ storm on the season. But no complaints, its gorgeous outside. What started as a wet cakey snow ended up a drifty powder, freezing the wet stuff somewhat in place. Winter wonderland for sure. While it is the 3rd largest snowstorm of the season, I would have to call this the 2nd most scenic, behind only November 11th.

OB was right!  This is a bit of a bust.  Looks like about 5" outside and it's barely snowing.  We'll probably pixie dust our way to 6" by dawn.  Even areas east of us which were bullseyed are dryslotted right now.

Considering that the afternoon portion of this event sort of over-performed, it's pretty disappointing.  The main defo band has produced, what, 2" additional inches here? Beh.

Finished with 1.7” here, snow never really stuck to the pavement. We are now at 15.7” on the season and have done so with literally 1-2” snowfalls.

Now thats the kind of futility a winter like this should represent. Detroit and SEMI literally manufacturing snow this year. I guess there seems to be that corridor running from Detroit up to Rochester NY, and Toronto where weak systems over the midwest deepened this year somewhat.

Not surprised. The storm ended up further east and weaker and therefore, we only got skimmed by some of the heavier returns last night. Woke up to ~6" and barely any snow piles post shovelling. This isn't the first time the models had us in the sweet spot, only for it to "bust" in the end. Disappointed to say the least.

Don’t worry, I am certain next year will be the year of Detroit cutters event after event :devilsmiley:

To say the least?  As recently as Sunday this was mostly rain.  Instead it's a winter wonderland out there.  Enjoy.

I ended up with 6" on the nose here in midtown Toronto on my snowboard, seems to line up nicely with other reports in the area.

Chance for a glancing snow squall sideswiping us tomorrow, but I am not expecting anything too exciting. The gusts this morning have been impressive though, some snow blowing around off buildings.

Im more concerned for whiteouts from quick hitting squalls. The extra 1-2cm will be a nice stat padder but its more dangerous how that 1-2cm falls in 10-15 minutes as the squall passes thru.

Cold and windy while shoveling snow this morning. A bit drifty, so I imagine very drifty in open areas. Storm total of 5.7" here brings the Feb total to 14.9" and season to 36.4" so far....storm total of 5.5" at DTW brings monthly total to 14.7" and season to 36.6". Finally November is no longer the snowiest month this season, however the November storm is still king.

Beautiful scenery this morning, and some weenie shovel piles. Will probably go for a walk in a park later.
