Major Winter Storm 2/6-2/7 OBS

Recommended Posts

I’ve been out driving around roc. Snow is moderate to heavy at times. Flake size is a little small. Roads are atrocious so it’s a great day to really test these new blizzaks.  They are eating it up. Looks like Ontario is really kicking in. Should keep us in the game through at least mid to late afternoon.

Didnt hear or see anything and I'm 3 miles away. But hard to hear with fireplace fan going. I saw they mentioned thundersnow reports in recent AFD. We probably had close to 3"/hour rates at times this morning. About 6 inches here so far.

Was looking at the GOES imagery.. the College of Dupage site has an overlay for lightning strikes. It looks like it picked up a strike SE of KBGM around 1556z (1056am) along with another one around the same timeframe in NE PA.
