And done. Such a tease.

Had to go just west. Took my daughter on our first storm chase. She manned the radar and was a great co-pilot.  Down to Long Gate on rt 100, back to Long Reach HS. Poured on and off. Weak lightning though. Total meh. Just home. Not a fricking drop here. Hope more is coming tonight that hits. Now back to some Cushwa Double IPA.

Just now, high risk said:

definitely not done with storms for the evening and overnight.    shear is marginal, but still some decent instability around.

That line in OH could give some folks a decent line tomorrow.  Even though it's going on 9pm a large chunk of the line is warned and still producing damage.

Two years ago this June, we had a huge unstable storm. I still remember yelling out to my kids and their friends to "come in now" and they poured in. Before I knew it, our downstairs was filled up with high schoolers and early college students.

I want to leave you with one pertinent fact: after the deluge, while they were getting restless to leave and I said please not yet, there was a horrific lightning flash and boom that took down a tree next door. Always, always wait and check your local radar and weather people before dismissing. I am thankful to this day I stood my ground and when they heard that boom, the rooms went silent and they learned too. Kids!! I love em.

Yup, getting hammered here.  Like Friday's storm, heavy rain and better lightning.  Just hope no more trees get hit.  Just got finished up cleaning up the mess.  Balsams suck when they get hit although the smell is nice. :)
