Snow has picked up here as the moisture moves in from the east.  Unfortunately the temperature is in the mid 30s.

It's always something. If we hadn't mixed yesterday...and these dry slots weren't so persistent...and the temperature was colder...we'd have quite a lot of snow.

Oh, well. Still a solid snow pack down now...get some nights in the 20s and it should freeze up pretty good.

Are we getting major downsloping from the Tug or Adirondacks, woflie?  It has been this stupid dry slot all day!

Interstate 88 seems to be the focus of the best returns most of today.  Looks like the better forcing and precip is just east of us and dries out as it rotates to our doorstep.

Thanks for the response.

Looks like we have some more opportunities coming up this week to pick up some more snow. Then a punch of warm air early next week...then perhaps more snow showers next week.

Yes...you will or should I say the traditional snowbelts of upstate NY...the rest of us get to pay the dealer from Vegas vacation 50 bucks to go back into the alley and get kicked in the nuts.

Snow continues. Still good banding.  21.5" measured west southwest of Schenectady. 29 hours now....

Nice Rick.  Your elevation probably helped you during the day today.  After a great start last night, its been slower today with much lighter rates.  Should be at around 20" by now, as it has really picked back up again after sunset.

Glad to see the ALB area finally getting a biggie sized snowstorm.  Hopefully reversion to mean occurs going forward over the next decade plus.  ;)

Typical event setting up..

Just hope the band stays in tact lol

Plus marginal surface temps, we'll see in 2 days I guess..

It's amazing to me that all these models want to give the buffalo metro area anywhere between 3 and 6 inches tomorrow night and Wednesday yet the local Mets and NWS buf say nothing more than a dusting to an inch with marginal temps during the event...

Jim Teske on Channel 9 reported someone measured 15 inches at Brewerton.  I don’t know where they’re located because I measured a total of 9 inches and I don’t think that 15 inches falls in line with any of the other reports in the area.  There were some 10 inch reports on CoCoRaHS in Onondaga and Oswego counties but nothing approaching 15 inches.

So what’s the deal for Tuesday PM into Wednesday AM? NWS is writing it off as just some scattered snow showers but every single meso is showing a LES band setting up around the metro for at least a few hour window with a 3-6” bullseye somewhere in Erie County by sunrise. Can’t even find any of the locals talking about it. Are the models all out to lunch on this one?
