A +NAO isn't a death sentence, there's dozens of other factors that are in play. 

So far this year I'm seeing a variety of forecasts vs last season where most seemed on board. Looks like one of the toughest winter forecast to date as it could go in many directions.

I think the best hope for above normal snowfall is one big snowstorm a la 2005-06 or 2015-16.  I saw some forecasts depicting this and having February as the most likely month to have above normal snowfall enhances the chances of this happening.  Especially in our new climate of big precip bombs.
