BWI recorded a -10F departure yesterday.  That was the first -10F or greater departure from normal since March 7th.  Since that day, there have been 42 days with +10F or greater departures, including 2 days with +20F or greater departures.  A figured it was a lot, but holy sh-t that's crazy.

20F.  See some PWSs in the area as low as 17F.  Impressive.

Been below freezing since just b4 7 last evening, and below 25F since midnight.  Grass season is definitely over.

If it gets warm again soon that grass will grow a little. Takes a little more than one cold night to make it go completely dormant.

Not in my case  - I did NOT keep up with the maintenance of my lawn renovation back in 2013. It is almost entirely weeds and ugly stuff now.

It does and it gets on my nerves. My fall leaf clearing process includes a prelim blow and mow in late Oct so my grass is nice and tight for when the big drop happens. Wind blows my leaves into my neighbors' yards when it works. A warm stretch in early nov fooks up my system by causing the grass to grow an inch and leaves get trapped in my yard. Very annoying some years.

1st WWA of the season for the mountains!  2-4” seems bullish by NWS Pitt...likely looking at 1-2” here tomorrow.
